Season 1 Episode 15 // Being Formed through Witness

Welcome back to An Abiding Life Podcast with your hosts, Hunter + Kait Poppa! In this episode, we look at the spiritual discipline of witnessing. Jesus's last words before His ascension charged us with the Great Commission; we are to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Witnessing is not just evangelism, it's making disciples that make disciples, just like Jesus did.

Here are a few reflection questions to keep in mind as you listen through this episode:
1. What is the example that Jesus left for us when it comes to making disciples? Did this look different at all for His apostles?

2. Many (including ourselves at times) have placed the “burden” of evangelism on our pastors, reducing our responsibility in witnessing or evangelizing to simply extending a simple invite to Sunday worship. As we live our lives from the context of walking hand-in-hand with Jesus, how should this impact the priority we place on disciple-making and our role in witnessing as we fulfill the Great Commission?

3. What role does the fruit of the Spirit play when it comes to witnessing? Think about what our witness for Christ would be if we were not loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, or exercising self-control?
