Season 1 Episode 12 // Being Formed through Generosity
Welcome back to An Abiding Life Podcast with your hosts, Hunter + Kait Poppa! In this episode, we talk all things generosity. Tune in for some beautiful passages of Scripture that model generosity from Genesis to the Early Church.
It’s important to approach the practice generosity remembering that it doesn’t just have to do with money; we can be generous with all that we have, since all that we are and all that we have belongs to God. Our time, talents, and treasures are gifts from God that we are called to steward and use to bless others: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10, NIV).
Here are a few reflection questions to keep in mind as you listen through this episode:
1. Think back to the Scripture passage in Leviticus about an offering being holy. What does this mean and look like for us as we practice generosity today?
2. How is practicing generosity an act of trust in God?
3. Regardless of where we are at financially, how can each of us practice generosity right where we are at? Remember that generosity is not just about honoring God with our money or possessions! Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in stewarding your life to honor God by blessing others and living generously.
